Simple Forcings

About half a year earlier I published an article called Simple Endgames and got some nice reactions. This article contains a few simple forcings. To be honest, I prefer the more complicated ones. In particular because I like an active, sometimes even an ingenious, defense of Black. Such that the game, though it is only a fantasy, gives the impression of two strong players in a real battle. A beautiful game is mostly between two strong players challenging the opponent.
I present the forcings with hardly any comments. Obviously all moves of White are the only winning and for the reader it will be clear that every other move of Black is losing as well, as a rule easier for White.
The numbers above the Applets help me to find my compositions back later, with the complete solution and remarks.

Ongeveer een half jaar geleden heb ik een artikel gepubliceerd genaamd Simple Endgames, waarop ik enige leuke reacties kreeg. Dit artikel brengt een paar eenvoudige forcings. Om eerlijk te zijn, ik geef de voorkeur aan wat gecompliceerder forcings. In het bijzonder omdat ik een actieve, soms ingenieuze, verdediging van zwart prefereer. Zo dat het spel, ook al is het een fantasie, de indruk geeft van twee sterke spelers die een echt gevecht leveren. Wat men een mooie partij noemt is meestal een strijd tussen twee sterke spelers die het de tegenstander niet eenvoudig maken.
Ik breng de forcings vrijwel zonder commentaar. Vanzelfsprekend zijn de witte zetten de enige die winnen en voor de lezer zal het duidelijk zijn dat elke andere zet van zwart eveneens verliest, als regel dan gemakkelijker voor wit.
De nummers boven de Applets helpen mijn composities later nog terug te vinden, met de complete oplossing en opmerkingen.

The position now, with Black to move, contains, besides a double opposition, two surprising variants, leading to the same final. The variants are explained below the diagram.

De stand die nu bereikt is, met zwart aan zet, kent, behalve een dubbele oppositie, twee verrassende varianten die hetzelfde slot hebben. De varianten worden aangegeven onder het diagram.



- (19-23) 31-27! (15-20) 22-18!, 27-22 (20-24) 39-34, 35 x 44.
- (19-23) 31-27! (15-20) 22-18!, 27-22 (29-34, 20-25) 30-24 (25-30) 22-18! (12 x 23) 24-19, 35 x 24.

The other variant is in principle the same, but even more surprising is that it proves to be the only way to win!
De andere variant is in principe hetzelfde, maar hier is het nog verrassender dat het de enige winst is!

-(15-20) 22-18!! (19-23) 31-27, 27-22, etc.

This last forcing gives a bit more real choice of moves for Black and the moves of White are not obvious. However, the composition is not complicated.

Deze laatste forcing geeft een beetje meer echte keuzes voor zwart en de witte zetten zijn niet vanzelfsprekend. Maar de compositie is niet ingewikkeld.
